Masquerade Party and Auction
Third Annual Masquerade Party & Auction
Each October, hundreds of people come to Pinckneyville to share in the time honored festivities of the town's homecoming - the Mardi Gras celebration. We would like to thank the residents and visitors who joined us for the third annual Masquerade Party. Once again, the area under the Pinckneyville Fairgrounds grandstand was transformed for the event on Friday, October 28. The night’s activities included hors d’oeuvres, music, costumes, silent auctions, a live auction, beverages, friends and fun!
Through the talent of a decorating committee headed by Paulet Loos, the lower Grandstand area was transformed into an old-type speak easy style saloon with beautifully decorated tables.
Grecian Steak and Seafood House provided hors d’oeuvres with the Southern Illinois University Saluki Cheerleaders serving wherever needed.
The King's Table was enjoyed this year by First National Bank in Pinckneyville. FNB guests enjoyed a special meal including Prime Rib with all the trimmings.
A wide variety of items were donated for the auctions, ranging from a day with Senator Luechtefeld and other experience type items, spa baskets, to truckloads of gravel, to a full length mink coat. The King's Table was a very popular auction item and the honor for 2012 was won by Murphy-Wall State Bank.
This event was sponsored by the Foundation for the Future of Pinckneyville. The Foundation for Pinckneyville was created in 2007 with a mission that is purely centered around the needs of the community and its members. The group strives to make the town not only a community, but rather a destination with quality education, state-of-the-art healthcare, and economic stability.
This year, the net proceeds from this event will benefit the Pinckneyville City Park initiative. Still in its infancy, this project promises improvements in the park’s amenities. One of our main goals for 2011, the Foundation for Pinckneyville is proud to help get this project off the ground.
The sponsors of this year’s event included White Walnut Farms, Grecian Steak & Seafood House, Murphy-Wall State Bank, Dick and Gayl Pyatt, and First National Bank in Pinckneyville.
Spearheaded by Chairperson Jane Chapman, volunteer committees comprised of many members of the community worked diligently to make this year’s event a success.
Don’t miss out on the fun! Please mark your calendars and make plans to join the fun October 26, 2012 for the fourth annual event.
