THE ILLINOIS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM will be housed in the former McDaniel’s Furniture Building on the Square in Pinckneyville. A lease agreement will be signed in the very near future, and substantial renovations will occur. The Board of Directors is focusing its full attention on a Capital Campaign which is to begin in November and run through January, 2010. Funds from the Campaign will help with renovation of the building.  Recently, the Executive Board added two new members: Coach Mike Krzyzewski, Coach of Duke Blue Devils, and Jerry Colangelo, owner of the Phoenix Suns. These two great basketball icons join Mannie Jackson, Jerry Sloan, Doug Collins, Julie Roe, Johnny Orr, Stephen Bardo, Ron Felling, Taylor Bell, Joe Wiley, Coach Rich Herrin, Senator Dave Luechtefeld, and Dick Corn to give the organization a great recognition in the basketball arena. The website is illinoishoops.org.
