COMMUNITY RESOURCE GUIDE

    More news here >

The story dates back nearly 175 years. During that time, there has been a steady procession of characters building upon the story that began near the banks of the Beaucoup and the cornerstone of the Perry County Courthouse. That story is Pinckneyville and it’s a story we want to celebrate and share with our fellow residents, the region and, indeed, the world. And now we can. Thanks to the generosity of donors to the Foundation for Pinckneyville and the membership of the Pinckneyville Chamber of Commerce, we have been able to publish the story of our community in a high-quality, full-color 40-page magazine, high-lighting many of the features for which we are best known. That magazine is available at both the Chamber office and the Foundation for Pinckneyville’s office, but is also available in a beautiful digital format you can easily access, view and print from your computer. Simply go to http://www.pinckneyville.com and click on the image of the magazine in the left-hand margin to begin your exploration. Or, if you like, you may access the magazine through the Foundation’s website at http://www.foundationforpinckneyville.org. Here, you may simply use the pull-down menu labeled ‘Projects’ and highlight the Community Resource Guide. Both the Chamber and Foundation websites are important in the promotion and improvement of our community. Here you’ll learn about initiatives and activities designed to enhance tourism, promote economic vitality, and generally bring together the community of people who call Pinckneyville home, no matter where they live. And also available through both the Chamber and Foundation websites, please look for TownCast; a video portal designed to tell the big story by telling the small stories of our community. As this project unfolds more completely in the coming weeks, residents and others will be able to contribute to the body of video story-telling already begun in much the same way YouTube and other online video services enable users to upload videos. Welcome to your community -- and happy exploring!
